Why not?

Ok, they can get the scholarship that is one payment, but when you see the millions that move around the TV rights you ask yourself how much of that money goes to the right places.

Because a coach can make millions, the university gets a lot of millions and where do they go?

I guess what I want to say is before saying no to compensating athletes for the use of their image at the college level, let´s make sure that the money that they help to produce is spent properly.

Properly means in equipment, scholarships, books, even professors.

But not to administrators or coaches only. The key word here is only.

So why not compensate those who make the effort. It is time to start doing something about it.


¿Por qué no?

Está bien, tienen una beca, esa es una parte del pago, pero cuando uno ve los millones que se mueven alrededor de los derechos de television, uno se pregunta cuánto de ese dinero va a los lugares correctos.

Porque un coach puede ganar millones, la universidad recibe millones, pero ¿dónde va ese dinero?

Lo que quiero decir es que antes de negarse a pagarle una compensación a los atletas universitarios por el uso de su imagen, vamos a asegurarnos de que el dinero que ellos ayudan a producir se usa apropiadamente.

Y apropiadamente significa, equipos, becas, libros y hasta profesores.

Pero no a los administradores y los coaches nada mas, y la clave es que no sea a ellos solamente.

Por que no compensar a los que hacen el esfuerzo.  Es tiempo de hacerlo.
